1. Net Metering Policy
- Availability: Net metering is allowed for residential, institutional, and commercial consumers.
- Capacity Limit: Up to 1 MW per consumer.
- Sanction Load Restriction: Rooftop capacity cannot exceed sanctioned load.
- Settlement: Monthly settlement of excess units, annual settlement at Average Power Purchase Cost (APPC).
2. Subsidy & Incentives
- MNRE Central Subsidy (Residential only):
- Up to 2 kW: ₹30,000 per kW
- 2 kW – 3 kW: ₹18,000 per kW
- Above 3 kW (up to 10 kW): ₹9,000 per kW
- State Subsidy (if any):
- Gujarat DISCOMs occasionally provide additional incentive schemes. Check latest circulars.
- Commercial & Industrial: No subsidy, but full net metering benefit.
3. Eligibility
- Who can apply: Residential, commercial, and industrial consumers with valid electricity connection.
- Discoms: GUVNL, MGVCL, PGVCL, UGVCL, DGVCL.
- Rooftop Ownership: Applicant must either own or have legal rights to rooftop usage.
4. Procedure to Apply
- Apply online at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) portal.
- Submit load details, rooftop area, and KYC documents.
- Technical feasibility approval by DISCOM.
- Installation, inspection, and meter integration.
- Net metering agreement executed with DISCOM.
